Connecting Airport to Onkyo amplifier

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help in connecting my Apple Airport express to my Onkyo amp TX-SR505.

I currently have an ipod Onkyo dock connected to my amp's "tape" as per the instructions and it works without any problems.

What should I connect my airport to? CD? I've tried but no sound is coming out even though the music is streaming according to itunes on my mac. I've tried different things but I've run out of ideas. I'm using the Monster Cable adapter set for the airport.

Any help would be appreciated,

Hello eveck. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

I suggest that you connect the AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) audio port directly to your Onkyo's Optical Digital in port using a 3.5mm Mini-Jack TOSLINK digital audio cable for optimal sound quality. As an alternative, you can connect the AX to the Onkyo's CD IN, VCR/DVR IN, or CBL/SAT IN port using a 3.5mm Mini-Jack to dual RCA analog audio cable.

On your Onkyo it doesn't really matter which input you use as long as it's not already being used. Just remember which input to switch to when you want to listen to music from iTunes. It sounds like you have it correct on the iTunes side however just to double check in iTunes go to:

1. Preferences
2. Devices
3. Check the box that says "Look for remote speakers connected with iTunes."
