IPOD Touch Applications Not Working

Hi There

I recently updated my Ipod Touch software to version 2.2. I then downloaded a few applications for the Itunes Store and synced my Ipod.

However when I try to open the applications they load for a few seconds and return to the main screen.

What should I do?

Thank you

Regards

I have a new 16gb touch and syncing appears to have caused this problem for me. I deleted everything and redownloaded them and it all worked fine. Then I synced today and it happened again. Can't use any 3rd party apps. I think this is just another case of paying customers getting screwed by DRM.

I can't redownload a free app because I'm at work all day and without wifi.

How about we get a real fix for this nonsense.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would post my experience of this problem.

I got my iPod and starting loading both free and a few paid apps, but not music at first (music suck on Linux box). Yesterday I experimented with transferring some music.

This morning one app would not load, the rest were fine. A few hours later there were all affected. I tried every solution on this page: reset, loading another app, etc.

I then decided to sync my apps with itunes (had not done this previously). All apps were copied to computer. I then uninstalled one of my apps from the iPod (sacrificing my settings for that app in the process, oh well).

Next I reinstalled it from itunes by selecting from the list and re-syncing. The previous broken app worked fine (as expected), but to my surprise, ALL the other apps started working properly. Result.

General advice is get your apps synced with itunes and reinstall 1 app, the rest should follow. It is a bug & it will probably strike again, but at least I have a work-around that works for me.

Cheers,

Steve.

oooh. it's the same as mine, i was able to use the applications, but then recently when i synced it with itunes (latest version i might add), the movie i bought won't play in my ipod but plays in the PC, after that, i restored the ipod touch, and then it only made things worse, all the applications i bought won't work. I'm so frustrated when this happend. I need the dictionary applications specially.
I did turn it off and then on,

I contacted ItunesStoreSupport, and he told me to do these things:
I deauthorized and authorized the computer.
I downloaded another itunes file.

still nothing. I even restored it again.

Well, mine stopped again recently....and I was only able to fix it by re-authorising my PC (which in my case involved re-authorising my credit card as the previous one registered had expired 6 months ago - I don't use apple store a lot!)

Frankly I have avoided paying for apps when I figure there is enough for me without buying them......I would consider some (friends have some good ones that I might buy), except it is too **** irritating that sometimes (usually when I am offline, eg flying !) the touch decides to not let me run any of the apps.

Until Apple sort this little yet significant-impact issue, then I remain an Apple-sceptic.

cool stuff, but when it stops as painfully as this appears to for so many people, it is cool but useless !!

Just my opinion, of course, & I realise that no everyone has this issue. Wish I was in that camp !

cheers
Mike

& incidently (& perhaps unrelatedly !), when in an Apple store stateside last week, I challenged the young and enthusiastic sales guy to the simple fact that I can buy everyone in my family a Windows laptop rather than just buying myself one Macbook, and his main reasons to try to persuade me were:

1. we offer easy-payment plans (huh ? still gonna cost me 3-4x !)
2. Mac has never suffered virus' (well, maybe, but my touch not letting me run any apps sounds a little like a bug to me that is as impactful as a virus !)
3. Mac's last longer. Well, maybe so. But I've seen one suffer a black screen of death, so I doubt they are that much better.....

So.....before I can become a convert (& I so wish to, believe me - they look sooo lovely !) PLEASE FIX THE TOUCH APPS PROBLEM, APPLE !!
