How can i run .app executable file

Question

How can i run .app executable file

Hi,

While i was searching for my topic on google code, i found one project and i download that.

But its "MyProject.app" with yellow cplored xcode sumbol and i can not run this file.

Does any one know that how can i run this type of file. i want to run this project.

And another question. I want to create executable file from my project like exe on windows. Is there any way to create this type of file????

I think you'd be better off taking some training, or at least working through some of Apple's tutorials.

A .app file is an application bundle. Double click it to run it.

Yes you can create .exe files. You can name your executables anything you wish, though it's not advised for certain program types. Just pass -o to the compiler. Almost no-one names their executables with a .exe extension on OS X or any other Unix for that matter.

Send the crash logs back to the developer. Have them make sure the .app was built for your machines processor type and OS version.

-O optimization can be found in the XCode build settings. Unless you are naming a file in an unusual manner, a .exe file won't run on a Mac directly... maybe under a VMWare or Parallels VM hosting some other OS environment, such as Wine and Linux.
