LDAP use and PHP installation problem....

Since I intend to use LDAP with my 10.5.6 server.Some things gave me a lot trouble. below is some of them,

1.LDAP user can not auto appeare at client site. But can by search to find them.(useing windows outlook express).
Considering is WGM not powerfull,So try to install phpldapadmin got question 2.

2.PHP with GETTEXT
use macport run: SUDO PORT INSTALL PHP5. updated PHP to version 5.2.8( by php -v I got this version no.) but at php test page appeare version still is 5.2.6 and without GETTEXT support.

Sorry for my empty on this and my English.

Any help will appreciate.

1. I assume you are trying to connect the the LDAP server from a client machine using OE on Windows. OE does not give you a full directory listing. You HAVE TO enter partial names and perform a search.

2. -v will give you the version that is installed, not the version that is running. Stop and restart web services to have the new version running.

Thanks for your help.
For Q1 I have try to use thunderbird for windows, same with OE, must use FIND USER to get person. I can use "Direcory" tool see all user, which under server utilities tools folder. I no idea what need to do.

For Q2 I already restart apache service, and server, but still got same problem.
And i do not sure "SUDO PORT INSTALL PHP5 +GETTEXT" can update php and enable gettext with it?

ipnnn, LDAP is working correctly. OE is working correctly. That is how LDAP lookup in OE works.

I'm not sure if macports installs PHP5 in the same location as Apple's version. You may have to change the link in httpd.conf.

I strict with this http://2tbsp.com/content/installapache_2_and_php_5macports
doing php5 and apache install by macport. looks installation was fine.

after server reboot, I still get old version of php5.2.6.

maybe this instruction can not suit for 10.5 server.
