transfering music from windows media player???

I have recentley put my ipod onto my laptop which is quite old. I have lots of music saved in windows media player and i can't get them into itunes to put on my ipod. I can't even burn the songs onto a cd as for some reason my laptop says there are no facilities to do this!!!! Anyone help please. Thanx Nikki

Actually, I did my own little research and played around with Windows Media Player.

There's a "Sync" button on top of Windows Media Player. I clicked on it, you select your playlist (I don't have a playlist to select). I'm assuming you connect your iPod and it automatically syncs. You don't have to transfer your songs from Windows Media Player, then iTunes, then your iPod.

I'm not sure if you can use both iTunes and Windows Media Player to sync your iPod with music, so I'm assuming you have to choose one.

have you looked for the saved (windows media player) music file? if you have found it, you can simply click, drag, and drop the file into your itunes library. my friend sent me a song (via email) from a cd that she had, and it was a windows media player file. i just dragged and dropped the file into my itunes library, and itunes converted the file for me.
