Linking failed. Remote did not respond.

"Linking failed. Remote did not respond."

That's the error message I get when trying to pair my iPod Touch (running 2.2) with Keynote 09. I have an iPhone that pairs just fine. The iPod touch appears in the Remote list of Keynote and provides a code. I type the code in and nothing happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the iPod, rebooted, even renamed the iPod thinking that has something to do with it. All to no avail.

Help!

I had this problem when my MBP was connected to an ethernet network and I was trying to control Keynote over a private wireless network created on the MBP. It always worked fine when both the iPhone and the MBP were connected to the same wireless network.

The solution which worked for me was to make sure that internet sharing was enabled on the MBP when it was already connected to a wired network.

In other words: don't use the Create Network option in the Airport Menu, use Internet Sharing in the Sharing pane of System Preferences.

Any solution to this problem so far?! I mean it was the hit of the last macworld and now here it is not working ... just checking to see if there is an update for this..

For me it works if do internet connection sharing from my MacBook and connect the iPhone to that wireless net. But that's a showstopper, as I need to be on the Internet via airport as well as using the Remote Keynote app on my iPhone ...
