iPhone won't mount on MacBook Pro

Has awlays mounted via USB port no problem until a couple of days ago. MacBook does not see the iphone when connected via USB, and the iphone will not charge. iPhone will charge when connected to AC power. iphone does not show up in System Profiler.

So far I have tried:

- Rebooting MacBook
- Restarting iPhone
- Tried every USB port
- Re-installing iTunes.

No luck. Am running OS X 10.5.6 Intel on MacBook

Any help appreciated!!!

Have you tried reset:

Page 34 of the manual:

"If something is not working right, restarting or resetting iPhone will likely solve the
problem.
Restart iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and
hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPhone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
For more troubleshooting suggestions, see Appendix A, “Troubleshooting,” on page 131. "

I am having the same problem. My iphone used to sync to my PowerBookG4, my Sharp PC laptop and my HP desktop. It will not sync to any of them anymore. I have tried all the troubleshooting tips and none work. Other than that my phone is working as normal and charges with the computers, just won't show up on desktop or itunes. Perhaps there is a phone setting that needs to be changed.
