Mail hanging while checking for e-mail

Question

Mail hanging while checking for e-mail

When I check my e-mail Mail somewhere along the way will freeze during the download. The program does everting else but will not complete the download. You can't quit the program normally. You have to Force Quit. What can I do?.

G5 1.6,20 inch Studio Display, G4 iMac, iPod Video, Mac OS X (10.5.6), Intel Core Duo MacBook

What version of Mail are you using Keith? Or what Mac OS version is this on?

Mail version 3.5 and OS 10.5.6

OK, now that we are in the right spot, have you checked to see if your Mail is up to date for 10.5.6?

Hey Keith,

I have the same problem, it started suddenly about 2 weeks ago. It was working fine before, without adding or changing anything in my configuration.
Everything is up to date. Mail Version 3.5 (930.3) and os X 10.5.6

I believe, it's the same issue like in this thread:

There's no way to solve it by now and I am sure, it's a bug. There are not many people reporting this issue, but hopefully enough to make some noise.

Please send a bug report to Apple (I did that) - this might better the chances, that there will be an update soon...
