Odd endnote X2 / Pages 09 thing...

I'm writing a medical article where we have to reference in Vancouver style and superscript. Having dutifully changed the output style in Endnote X2 to superscript, every reference inserted in Pages comes in... subscript. When I try to output in subscript, the references come out with a normal baseline. Everything else (formatting, etc) is otherwise fine. I am at a loss to explain this and would appreciate any help!

There is a workaround for this bug on described on the endnote forums at thomsonscientific.com

In short, superscripts in endnote citations are interpreted as subscripts in Pages '09. Citations formatted as subscripts in Endnote X2 show up as superscripts in Pages '09. This may not be true for every reference types but has been the case for several medical journals I tried.
