Macbook Pro Windows 7 no audio

I was able to install Windows 7 on my MBP, installed graphics drivers perfectly. Only thing I cant figure out is getting the audio to work. Some people suggested downloading Realtek audio drivers which I tried but those too were unsuccessful. Any of you guys figured it out yet or could point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Mac book pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Try this.

Boot into Windows 7.

Insert Leopard DVD for Boot Camp Drivers. Don't auto-run the installer. Navigate to the drivers folder and there you find the individual .exe files files for each driver.

Right click on the RealTek driver and select 'troubleshoot installation'. Windows will ask you several questions, but basically the gist of it is to tell Windows that 'This driver used to work OK in Vista'. You can answer all of the questions as 'Don't know' or 'Other'. Provided you say that it worked in Vista, you should be fine.

This work for me with the 64-bit version on my iMac 24". I didn't bother downloading from the realtek website.

If you've installed the 64-bit version, make sure you use the 64-bit driver. I don't know if this technique will work for the 32-bit version, but I don't see why not.

dear mangowarrior
I had the same problem of you but I figured out a way to solve this issue.
You need drivers of boot camp on mac osx 10.5.4 dvd.then open Drivers folder, you will see RealTekSetup.exe right click then click to troubleshoot compability. A window will apper. You'll se Program Compability click next below. Select "the program worked earlier versions of windows but won't install or run nom." and click next. Realtek Setup will start and install drivers. solution is just this.
have fun with yor windows seven macbook pro

This a a tip for all of those who are going Crazy looking for RealTek Driver!!
After 8 hours trying over 10 different versions of the driver as well as Compatibility modes on my Windows 7. Turns out I was installing the wrong Manufacturer Driver all Along!
My MBP 17" _uses SigmaTel_, ran the setup that came on the OX 10.5 CD, installed in less than a minute!!!!
*IF YOU ARE GETTING A RED LED ON THE AUDIO JACK* on the side of your laptop, is an indication you have the wring driver installed..

Best of luck, i just had to share to save anyone out there time and frustration.

To everybody if your having trouble with sound. (low or no sound at all)
everybody is talking about going to the website of realtek. (with very poor internet connection)
or use the drivers on your mac disc. (used to work for me with my macbook in the past)
i had this problem,
windows 7 said, drivers installed correctly. High definition sound device. or something like that.
but i have no sound. and this has nothing to do with the red led light from your headphone jack.
i had this problem running Mac osx 10.5.7 & snow leopard. windows 7.xxx/7600
but here is how i solved this one 😉
i installed vista and vista immediately installed de CIRRUS sound driver. also located on your mac disc.
so no HIGH DEFINITION SOUND DEVICE for me
i installed windows 7x64 inserted my mac disc (bootcamp 2.0) and installed the CIRRUS driver
now windows 7 says:
Cirrus Logic cs4206a (ab75) driver installed.
now i have sound. not a 100% but around 80/90% and i can live with it.

my only problem now is i heard you can't turn your keyboard backlit off.
because off windows 7 ambient light sensor B llsht
hope this helps.

Boot Camp => format the "BOOTCAMP" partition (so as to make it NTFS) = Automatic Update for the video card and then to realtek.com/downloads and sure enought, following along the "High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)" link, got me to Windows 7 drivers (just make sure to browse, then "let me pick" and point to where you unzipped the above downloaded driver); but alas, device could not start.

Restarted my MacBook Pro and a Windows security alert popped up for a couple Realtek pieces of software (e.g. SkyTel), but still nothing; then clicked on the Sound icon by the time, Windows offered me to Apply Fix, so I did, but still nothing (besides the driver now reverting back to Microsoft!).

Went back and re-installed drivers (manually, letting me pick, and browsing to location) and picked the second driver (there were like 7 drivers offered, but all seemingly the same): no avail; so, picked the next and so on and so forth, until all were tried and none helped.

I like the suggestion though (just wondering what the right driver is)...

Nice clue! Was hoping it was only that some have Realtek and some have SigmaTel (I tried the former to no avail, so hopeful of the latter).

Went to download.com and searched for "sigmatel high definition audio" and downloaded the codecs (albeit from Dell), ran the installer and nothing. Noticed the audio drivers were still from Microsoft (i.e. not sure what the Dell installer did), so tried updating the driver using the folder the codec above unpacked to, restarted, but still didn't help.

Will continue to look...

Another good suggestion, but didn't help me.

cirrus.com/en/support/drivers and then picked Windows 2000 in the Generic Audio Driver drop down menu (albeit not Win7, was the highest OS to pick from), then used the CS4630 version (again, just going with the highest version offered), updated drivers to that, restarted, but no better.

I think I'm going to go back to Realtek or SigmaTel and get my OS 10.5 DVD (as opposed to thinking a quick download).

I wish I could take back my third post: I think most MacBooks (or Pro) have either the Realtek or the Sigmatel; i.e. and not Cirrus Logic.

Anyway, finally got my OS 10.5 DVD and put it in (while booted to Windows 7) and ran the setup.exe/bootcamp and just clicked continue anyway for "may not be compatible" and let it install everything (and there was also another "may not" for the intel chipset), and then restarted, and BAM! I have sound!

LESSON: I believe the instructions probably state to run your Mac OS DVD in Windows (a.k.a. the bootcamp program for windows, not to be confused with the Mac version to setup a partition and restart your computer to your Windows DVD); just follow instructions and don't try to manually just grab the right Audio drivers (or the other few that aren't built-in to the Windows installer).
