Which RIP software are you using with your HP130?
If your running the discontinued HP branded RIP, be sure to select the RIP in the printer utility -- "hp
designjet_130_RIPUnknownMac" -- not the actual HP 130 printer which will also be listed several times as a bonjour and AppleTalk printer. If you correctly select the RIP software as your printer, the "Print Using" options will be gray and unavailable. That should do it.
If you're using EFI Designer Edition, select EFIPrinterSoftwareAT as your printer, then select "Other." Under "Other," hunt down and select the "HP Designjet 30-90-130" PPD. You may need to download the PPD from the HP website and put it in the proper Library folder. (On my system, this particular PPD doesn't appear with the other HP drivers when I look under HP in the "Print Using" pull-down menu so I locate it using "Other" based on where I know the driver was installed in the Library>PPD >Resources>Engl folder).
The EFI software also requires that you run the EFI Spooler which is found in the System Preferences folder. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to keep the spooler permanently "on" or to automatically launch upon start-up. Without the spooler software running, you won't be able to select the EFI RIP ("EFIPrinterSoftwareAT") as your printer in the print dialogue box of applications like InDesign. Once on, the spooler will remain active until you shut down. It's a pain when you're using a remote print server as you must go to the server and manually launch the Spooler application on any day you intend to print using the EFI RIP with the HP 130.
