iPhone wont charge with Sony Xplod car stereo

Does anyone know what to do about making my iPhone 3G work with my car stereo. It keeps saying device not supported. It worked with my 3rd gen nano. It's the Sony Xplod car stereo. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

with an aux cable connected to the audio system. It will play the music but it won't charge my iPhone or iPod touch. Is there any way to fix it?

The iphone and nano are not the same device.

You probably need to ask sony if they have a cable that is supported by iphone.
