Listen to bbc radio on ipod touch.

BBC only offers news in text. If you want to listen to BBC then podcast is the only way. Mobile Safari doesn't support any other formats except Quicktime so the Real files that BBC has will not be playable on your iPod.

I use Wunder Radio, check it out in the App Store. It has the BBC and other UK radio stations.

It's possible to stream BBC radio via Wi-Fi in the UK:

actually, you can't as yet stream live radio via the iplayer on the ipod touch. you can use the 'listen again' feature though. (and i regularly do, though anything longer than 3 hours pretty much drains the battery.
the feature may well come though, the iplayer is an ever evolving phenomenon, and for a while you could only access tv shows using it.

if you don't want to be restricted by wi-fi access, there are FM recievers you can buy to plug in to your ipod, and DAB radio adapters are also starting to appear on the market.

nice to know about wunder though, i might invest in that.

Do you know of the name brands of these receivers? Do these require a paid subscription?

You can listen to live radio broadcasts using Wunder Radio on a IPOD Touch. I have been.

since my last response on this thread, i have purchased a Roberts Robi DAB/FM/Remote. it's basically a portable radio which uses the ipod as a power source, and acts as a basic remote for playing the ipod. costs about £50 (or less from ebay) and is brilliant. i'd thoroughly recommend it.

(this assumes you are in the UK, I don't think other places have DAB [digital] radio)

maybe iphone os 3.0 will support third party software like that, but you'll have to wait till this summer.
