I'm interested in installing Windows 7 on my Mac, but don't have enough hard drive space on my Mac partition to do so as a virtual machine - I do, though, have Vista installed on the Boot Camp partition, but am reluctant to install a beta over Vista, particularly if the beta isn't going to provide me with the Microsoft updates that seem to come every week with Vista. I'd welcome any opinions here....is a beta version of Windows 7 so good that I wouldn't miss Vista?

I definitely won't recommend installing Windows 7 over your Windows Vista partition, especially if your Vista is working well.
Windows 7 is in early beta, which means it will undergo extensive modification before it is officially released. It may have (serious) bugs that can prevent you from working with your computer.
If you really want to run 7, I suggest waiting until the final version is released.

I have been using Vista x64 for two years, I have SP1+ and the SP2 Beta.
Tried out Windows 7 clean install on another drive and like it runs better, so I then took my SP2 Vista and upgraded that to Windows 7 beta 64-bit as well.
It has better multi-core support, performance, and runs better!!
I don't hesitate to say it is a better Vista than Vista.
