GB and MOTU 828

I have a first generation MOTU 828 firewire interface.

I'm on an intel imac with all software up to date.

When I open GB '09 it will play through the MOTU 828 fine until I do anything...click on a track, move the mouse...anything. Then the sound cuts out completely.

I've reinstalled GB and updated the MOTU driver. No luck.

Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I heard back from Presonus. They asked me to disable wireless, repair disk permissions and perform an NVRAM reset. I did all of that but it didn't change anything. I also installed the new GB patch (5.01 I think) and it had no effect either.

In the meantime, I bought some cables and ran the stereo line out of my guitar rig into the line-in on the back of my iMac. It sounds surprisingly good! I guess that will have to hold me over until Apple fixes this problem.

I'm doing the same thing you are. I've got my guitar going directly into my imac. It does sound surprisingly good. I really do like the new amp simulators in GB. It was my main reason for upgrading in the first place.

I ordered a mic preamp for vocals to go directly in also. Hope that sounds as good as the guitar does.

Sounds like we're both on the same page while waiting for a fix. I've repaired permissions any number of times and also installed the 5.0.1 patch. No change just as you've already found out.

Thanks for keeping us informed of the information you're getting. If I find out anything new I will definitely post it.
