I now my G4 is old. But, I am running Mac OS X 10.4.11 which I didn't think was so old. However I downloaded "Open Office" but, when I attempt to open it I get ther message that I "cannot open the application, because it is not supported by this system." I'm sure some one knows and I thank yu in advance for your help.

OpenOffice 3 requires an Intel Mac. Click here and download the PowerPC version of OpenOffice 2.4.

Close! But, 2.4 doesn't work and the download for 3.0 doesn't work with Safari or Firefox apparently. Their fault, not yours. Anyone know where I can get it with just a regular download link? Not a ftp or whatever Safari's problem is?

Try NeoOffice @ http://download.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php

NeoOffice is equivalent to Microsoft Office. It can open Excel files, Word files & PowerPoint files. You can also create these types of files that can be opened by PC users.

There is a PowerPC build of Open Office 3 RC4 in English. It is about 170MB.

I just installed it on my mother's B&W G3, and created a blank text document to be sure it worked. It did.
My mother's B&W G3 has a G4 450MHz upgrade, 1GB of RAM, an original Radeon (7200) video card and OS 10.4.11.
