deinterlaced output is not deinterlaced

my source feed is 1080i, and when i export in 1280x720 the video still shows as interlaced footage... any ideas?

MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Hi folks, I'm fairly new to the Apple world but glad I joined. I purchased a Canon HG20 yesterday and tried to shoot short clips in order to decide which format I like most etc..I shot the clip in the highest quality @ 30p

I'm exporting using iMovie '09 / Quicktime and I'm getting "jaggies" in my video when the is movement. I took a screenshot and posted it on my flickr account. Here is the link to the picture ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/29397587@N06/3235817267/). Is this what you're all talking about?
