bug in audio adjustment?

Hi there,

I am just trying the new imovie09-features and so far I was very happy.

But now I am not sure if I have found an bug in audio adjustment. I added an mp3-File to some clips. It seems that there is no effect, if I adjust the audio (volume or fade-in/-out).
After I seperated audio from video (new feature in movie09), I can't adjust volume or fade-in/-out as well for that new generated audio???

Has anybody the same problem?? Thanks for every note.

Ciao,
Holger

Thank for the tipp, but that I already know, I am not that kind of a imovie-beginner 😉

But I found something else:
I started my project in iMovie 08 and now editing it using iMovie09. As a test I started a new test-Project totaly new in iMovie09 using the same media-files and it seems to work!!

Can it be that importing iMovie-Projects from previous iMovie versions in iMovie09 is not perfect??
Keep you updated.

PS: Unfortunately I can not copy everything from the original project to a new project, because 'copy-all' does not copy all my titles!? ;-(

I'm having a problem with audio too.. I may be saying essentially the same thing you guys are.

Problem didn't show up until I exported to MobileMe. Doing a DVD export to see if it's there too:

I have a lot of video clips that I have taken the audio down to zero. I have music playing underneath and don't need the audio.

Plays back fine in iMovie '09, but when I exported to MobileMe. The clips aren't honoring their volume setting anymore, especially in the 2-3 seconds leading up to when they are set to appear. I'm going to try going back through and extracting the audio and deleting, but this is a bug that needs some attention from Apple...

That's actually how I originally had it. I went back and extracted and deleted to see if that would fix it. Unfortunately, it didn't.

Based on what I'm seeing, the audio seems to be in transitions. Perhaps iMovie '09 isn't re-rendering the transitions to get rid of the audio? I tend to drop clips in, set transitions and then worry about audio. Maybe if I change the transitions to something else and change them back, it might clear it.

There are more throughout, but that's where it starts.

All of those video clips originally had audio zeroed, and now have the audio deleted.

The only sound is supposed to be from the music. Looking back at the way it's working, it doesn't look like it could be the transitions. It seems to be phantom audio from a clip that is not currently supposed to be on screen. Like it's cueing up a clip in prep for it to come on screen 2-3 seconds before it hits. So I hear audio from an upcoming clip before I see that clip if that makes sense.

Looking back at that, even though it republished and took a few hours, I'm not sure that I trust that it's the newer version. I removed some audio from a clip that still has audio online (and not the phantom audio problem we're tracking down.) I'm probably going to delete that one out of my gallery and republish tonight.

New suspicion... testing now with an export (this problem does not show up inside of iMovie, only in exported files).

I think the problem is the template transitions having leftover renders. I've deleted the transition and am exporting to test that out.

I have encountered another problem with the template titling. You can't have a template title on a clip and also have a transition on it. The transition does not play.
