Does iMovie '09 Not support raw images?

Most of my photos are stored in photoshop's PSD format in iPhoto. iMovie '06 had no problem recognizing and working with these. When I try to look up photos in the "Show Photos" screen in iPhoto '09, only photos in the jpg format are showing up.
