Ripping Speed

Is there any way that I can change the ripping speed to a lower setting?

Some of my CD's vibrate while ripping, and I and I am not sure if I am getting a good "Burn" to my Library.

I have the Windows XP Professional software.

Intel, Windows XP Pro

If iTunes for Windows is the same as iTunes for Mac then there's a speed setting in your burn options. If you are using iTunes 8 the burn options appear when you highlight a playlist, insert a blank CD and choose the Burn Disc button

You get to chose your preferred burning speed in the burning info pop-up window, when you hit the 'Burn' button in the playlist. Set it to a lower speed and click ok.

Edit > Preferences > Import settings - Enable "Use error correction when reading audio CD's".

This will in most cases reduce the import speed - and at the same time making sure that you get a good CD rip.

I believe your answer is right! I am ripping "Joseph Haydn - The Seven Last Words"; the CD is ripping & noisy. I have "Error Correction" checked, and the CD is ripping at 2.2x.

I have the error correction set.

I am talking about the "Ripping" speed, not the "Burning Speed".

I am building my Library, and I ripped many of my CD's yesterday. Some of the noisy ripping did so at a reduced rate; however, many were very noisy, and ripped around 20-30x. I am concerned about damage to my drive; also, the quality of the "ripping".

I still can't find anything that would allow me to reduce the "ripping" rate. Am I overlooking something?

Thomas's answer is the correct one for iTunes. If that is not helping, rip the CD in another program, such as Windows Media Player, and add the resulting MP3s to your iTunes library.
