Is Hoefler Text safe for the web?

Is Hoefler Text safe for the web?

I notice that Hoefler Text is the default font for the Highlighter theme. Yet it does not appear in the web-safe fonts list.

Should I change all my pages from Hoefler Text to a font on the list?
Will I run into problems by leaving them as Hoefler?

iMac G5 20, 250GB, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

I started with Hoefler and ran into trouble with the way my text looked in Windows, particularly with IE. So, after some experimentation, I changed to Verdana.

No it is not considered to be a web safe font.

If you use it and the font can not be found on your visitors page it will be replaced with the next closest match.

If you can, test your site in IE on Windows.
