iSub Now Working, Fix Made.

I have just fixed the iSub for PPC based Mac OS 10.5. Its still got some glitches in it though. Trying to fix.
Heres the bugs:
~Must be plugged in when computer is started, and cant be unplugged until computer is shut off.
~Only one application can access the iSub. Not only one at a time. But only one. iTunes will play through it fine, and you can use volume buttons, but if you launch iChat or something and it makes the login sound, boom. Back to the glitchy sound.

I'm trying to work these out. I'll probably write a guide sooner or later on it. I was thinkin about charging $5 for it, but i dont think i can, hehe so there goes that idea. Ill probably write a guide here shortly. Stay tuned.

Can't wait for the guide for the FIX !!! I miss my iSub. I don't know how or why Apple screwed this up so bad.

Apple didn't screw anything up. Why should they support an accessory that was discontinued so many years ago? If you like the idea of the iSub, you can either get the original SoundSticks (USB) or the SoundSticks II (Analog line in). Both are fully compatible with Leopard, and sound much better than the iSub combined with built-in speakers.

I swear I hate this mentality - tell me this, why should consumers have to use a perfectly fine piece of equipment as a door stop just because, for whatever reason, apple deemed it no longer worthy of support - _after we paid_ to upgrade to the latest operating system?

My iSub works fine, or at least it did - and it still would - but instead it is sitting in my basement collecting dust. A perfectly fine piece of equipment. So what, I'm supposed to just run out and buy a new one now eh?

Seriously, you don't see why people are irritated by this?

Unless you are willing to run out and buy new sub's for all of us maybe you could just try keeping your comments to yourself.

I tried it, and it worked great.

One note, for those not successful, the ReadMe/Instructions may benefit from the author indicating when/where to hit the Enter Key when using Terminal.

I am curious: Having read the warnings about using iChat, if I do inadvertently use iChat and mess up my sound, is the fix as simple as restarting the computer? Or do I need to do some reinstall stuff?

I wonder, too, if You could contact Apple about having them incorporate your fix in future incarnations of the OS, since there are a lot of us out there with iSubs who would still like to use them.
