Sony clock-radio docking station not compitable after 2.2.1 upgarde

After upgrading both my iPhones to 2.2.1, my Sony clock-radio docking station (icf-c1ipmk2)does not work with the iPhone anymore. The unit is made for iPhone and worked without any issues until the 2.2.1 upgrade.

Now every time I place the iPhone in the docking station, I get the following message on the iPhone:
"This accessory is not made to work with iPhone."

With the option to start in Airplane mode.

Is anyone else having the same issue? Is there any solution to this?

I got that message too, but it appears to be ok still. Do you mean that the Sony remote doesn't work with it now?

In my case the docking station just does not charge the phone anymore. Is your phone still charging?

Mine charges it up. Some thoughts though. Have you reset the phone since you discovered the problem? I assume the phone still charges by other methods? Have you repowered the dock too? Have you tried a phone restore via itunes? If none of that helps I'd actually suspect a fault with the dock as I can't see a firmware update stopping electricity from flowing some how.

I have the same issue. Did you try downgrading the firmware to see if that worked?

I got the same Sony Clock-radio docking station with no problem... working great. - I upgraded to 2.2.1., still working great.

Ever since updating my iPhone I have noticed this problem too.
Every time the phone is inserted the "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone" message is displayed, the iPhone will still play music and work as before, however it can no longer be controlled by the the dock.

Is there any way of contacting Apple about this, as it must be an iPhone OS issue?

I just talked to Sony and they gave me a buncha BS about oh it's not compatible with the iPhone 3G and I started complaining that yes it was but now the 2.2.1 update it's not... Long story short. They told me a new clock radio would be available for purchase soon. I laughed and told them that's a buncha garbage because why would I wanna buy a new radio that's probly ONLY compatible with the current OS 2.2.1 and would just be junk in June when the 3.0 OS comes out for the 3G... GARBAGE!

Just FYI i have the next generation of Sony clock Radio ICF-CD3i(the round one with the pop out dock) and guess what "This accessorie not campatible with iPhone" though i can quite past the warning message then it works fine. The interesting part is i tried it out on another one at the shop at time of purchase and it worked fine. So long and short going to return it get another one see if that works. Just seems like Sony (Love there products not bagging them)need to put more work into working out the compatibility from their end
