OK, I've got one for somebody smarter than me out there ( a lot i'm sure).
I have an airport extreme (n) and there is one particular website that I cannot access through the extreme, but if I pull the airport out and hook up directly to the cable modem I can get to this website. What gives? I get a warning like this:
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://www.choicehotels.com/?" on this server.

I went through earthlink and we determined it has to do with the airport..
Oh, the website is www.choicehotels.com
I have been able to access this up until about 3 weeks ago..
I have the exact same problem. This is INFURIATING!
Moreover, it's extremely vexing. Here are the facts as I blogged them on my blog:
---------
I am unable to get to webex.com since I set up the Time Capsule. At all. I don't want to have to send the Time Capsule back, but I will if I have to.
But this is a very vexing problem, and here's why:
1. I cannot get to webex or any webex site (like v.webex.com my company's webex site) from my MacBook Pro over Wifi, neither using Safari nor Firefox.
2. I cannot get to webex from my MacBook Pro with a wired connection either.
3. I cannot get to it from my iPhone over Wifi.
4. I can get to it from my iPhone over 3G.
Naturally, this leads me to believe it's a problem with my network, and since the only thing that has changed is the Time Capsule, I have a very likely suspect. But...
5. I can get to it from my wired Windows Vista computer.
Which naturally makes me suspect some apple-related issue. But...
6. I can get to it from Jill's iMac over Wifi.
So in review, I know it's not a Wifi issue; it's not a wired issue; it's not an apple issue, it's not a router issue. The only two ways I cannot connect are on my iPhone over the Time Capsule and on my MacBook Pro over the Time Capsule. The only logical conclusion at this point, the only thing these two device connection have in common, is me. My own home network hates me.
7. And now, to further prove it out, I have circumvented the Time Capsule and connected to Webex using my Sprint aircard. I can connect over the aircard.
Now the only logical conclusion at this point is that Time Capsule hates me. That or I'm caught in the crossfire. Maybe webex hates Time Capsule or Cisco hates Apple or vices versa, and I'm the cat getting kicked.
No matter what the result's the same. I can't get to webex.
---------
Final thoughts. I just set up the Time Capsule today. The first two devices I connected through it were my MacBook Pro and my iPhone--the two devices that are getting hammered by the Time Capsule. If my memory is correct, the next thing I did was set up Time Machine on my MacBook Pro and begin backing up the whole hard drive. I think these were the only two devices I connected before setting up Time Machine. Does the TC have incorrect cached routing information somehow for these two devices?
Whatever has happened, there is definitely some connection between the TC and these two devices. It is an evil connection.
Now time capsule gets a little bit, just a little bit, further. It's connecting to webex and retrieving the top part of the screen but then it fails. Screen shot here:
This problem is not exclusively related to the Airport Extreme. See thread:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9498706 .
I have an Airport Express with exactly the same problem: It won't connect with only one (my own) domain. So, no mail, no website, no update website, no FTP, no nothing! It's driving me crazy.
So "Clairdemoon", please can you tell me exactly what you have turned off? You are telling us the 'Guest-network'? I cannot find this in the Airport Utility. Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Hi Clairdemoon,
Thanks for your posting.
Unfortunately the AEBS doesn't have this feature and my problem still exists. I've tried everything (I think...). In a friends house everything works OK and here... only my own site I can't connect to. I'm ready to buy a third party router.
Greetz,
Geert.
I am having the same issue. My company website: www.object59.com is not viewable if I am going through the AEBS. If I plug directly into the modem it works fine. I spoke with Apple and they do not have a solution. They say it is not possible or AEBS to block certain websites. It is really weird. Please let me know if anyone has found a solution.
AND - I am also having the exact same problem with 2 Danish websites: www.nordea.dk (our bank - extremely annoying) and www.aarstiderne.com. Wireless network - Airport Extreme. The network just goes dead when you try to access one of the sites, I do not get any error messages. When I bypass the Airport Extreme and hook a cable up directly to the DSL model it works. Problem both on macs and pc's connected to the Airport network.
I believe I have the same problem, my wireless network will not allow me to access my business website, but will access other websites. If I bypass my airport extreme, then I can access the website. Can't believe Apple isn't working on this -- are they just conceding that businesses can not rely on their wireless network hardware? The problem started (for me) as I was adding email accounts to the mail application... added 5 today, making the total number over 12 I believe. All of a sudden no access to my domain, neither ftp, cpanel, web pages, mail, nothing; though other domains work fine, and I can access the business domain from other networks, just not the one created by the airport extreme.
Count me in on this issue. I handle 3 different websites that I run out of iWeb. What's interesting is that I actually haven't messed with two of them in months so I'm thinking it has something to do with the specific host (even though I can get to their sales/admin page just fine). At first I thought it was the host entirely (1and1.com) and/or Time Warner because I had users tell me the site was down around 7:30PM every night this week. So I didn't think much when it first went down. But here I am 4 hours later, scratching my head.
At any rate, if I try to access any of them via wireless, no dice. If I plug directly in, works like a charm. Slow EGDE on my 2G iPhone? Completely slays my Wifi connection when trying to access websites that I created. I need to try my Airport Express to see if it does the same thing but I'm tired of messing with this... To pay this much for one of these routers and have it do silly sh*t like this is just laughable.
Heck, even though all you guys had tried reloading an older firmware, I decided to be an a$$hole and try it any ways, hoping it would fix it. No way...
Seriously though, this is the weirdest tech support issue I've ever come across. And I've been doing this a long time. If any one has any suggestions, I sure would appreciate it. I even tried resetting DNS and that didn't work at all.
