ipod touch and GM Factory radio

My ipod touch with version 2.2.1 will not play through the radio only hear it from the internal speakers. Tried an ipod classic and it was fine. I am doing this in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala . Is there a resolution for this issue. Spoke to GM dealer and they say it is an Apple issue. Thanks

There may not be one. Do you have a 1G or 2G touch?

Do you have something different than a AUX input port by the radio panel? If it is the Aux cable, this might be as simple as a cable problem or you haven't plugged it all the way into the iPod.

If you are using a Gen2 iPod with a FM transmitter type adapter, the Gen2 does not connect to many of the ones that work with the Classic.
