What are these little triangles?

I'm editing a document in Pages '08 and scattered throughout the text are these little upward pointing triangles. They don't go away when I "Hide Invisibles". I cannot select the triangles. If I select the text before and after the triangle and delete it, the triangle is still there at the point of deletion. They show up when I print the document.

I think that in every case, the text originated in a Microsoft Word document that I imported into Pages. Can anybody tell me what these triangles are? I'd like to get rid of them.

I figured it out on my own. I had "change tracking" turned on, and the triangles indicate where there was unaccepted deleted text. The triangle only shows up if you've chosen "hide deleted text".

I use change tracking to keep a record of my own edits, so I never "accepted" any of the changes. Doing so erases the record of the change.

In my opinion, showing this triangle on printed copy is a bug in Pages.
