Curly Quotes to Inches and Feet

I know in TextEdit you can change curly quotes to inches and feet by pressing the control key, I can't find any way to do the same thing in Pages '09. Is there one?

iMac G5 Power PC, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Thanks Peter, I took your advice and posted a request to Apple. Seemed like a really easy question and all of you came up with lots of suggestions but nothing as easy as TextEdit.
