How do I mute multiple clips so the added music can be heard clearly?

I tried highlighting multiple clips and then clicking on the sound icon and reducing the sound. It only works on one of the selected clips. In iMovie HD you only needed to select a radio button to include or exclude the clips' sounds. Help.

Pick one clip. Click the audio icon. Move the volume slider to zero. Click Done.
Now select that same clip and right-click/Copy. (or Edit/Copy)
Now select all the clips you want to apply this adjustment to by clicking on them while holding down the command key (or select all clips by Edit/Select All)

Now select Edit/Paste Adjustments/Audio Adjustments

You are finished.
