Fans in Unibody Macbook Pro

I have read a bunch of threads on fans not getting fast enough to disperse the heat fast enough. It seems like my machine is doing the same thing; the fans not spinning over 1999/2001rpms and my machine reaches high temperatures. I have looked into smcFanControl but when I install the application, it states that its not compatible with my machine. Anyone else have this problem and or any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I've had my new unibody MBP for a couple weeks now, and never once heard the fans turn up until just now, after resetting the SMC. It was getting very hot too. Unbearable on my lap, and Istat gave CPU and GPU readings around 80 degrees Celsius.

Immediately, when turning on the computer after resetting the SMC for the first time, the fans made unmistakable sound - going up to 6000+rpm for a bit and returning to idle speed when cooled. Hopefully the fans will remain functional now.

I have got my 13' unibody MBP for two weeks now.
I have found that my fan does not go more than 2000 RPM until 90 Celsius degree.
only after that, the fan goes to 2700RPM and trying to cool down the machine.
I agree with earlier post this is NOT a ideal setting for laptop computer at all!

I tried SMC fan control but that is not what I want, I want to lower down the threshold of speeding, not maintain the fan at higher speed even in idle.

I haven't tried the extended fan control
http://www.derman.com/Download/Special/MBpFanControl.html
because my 13 MBP only have one fan other than two as in the extended fan control
Also I am sure about resetting SMC part (even the apple site doesn't have corresponding instruction for resetting SMC on latest MBP)

Has anyone here tried extended fan control on the latest MBP? Does it work as expected.
