Why can't I import my Walmart music files?

The iPod shuffle only plays AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible and WAV.
WMA files are not supported by the player or itunes. You will need to use another application to convert them to AAC or MP3 before importing into library.
If your WMA music is DRM locked you may not be able to convert them.

Your Walmart files probably have Windows DRM on them, which doesn't work with Apple DRM.




Most online MP3 retailers are moving to DRM-free files because of this. Buy the CD or use Amazon MP3s which will work with both WMP and iTunes.

I just went through this and found a solution for you, although I admit it is far from ideal. I had to rip a CD with the wal-mart .wma songs on it and rip that cd using itunes or similar into MP3 format. When I tried to convert using iTunes straight to .mp3 the license agreement stopped me. When I purchased the wal-mart music I think all they offered was the .wma format. Now they only offer .mp3. I emailed them and asked if they would re-issue the music I'd already purchased in the new format they responded they couldn't do that and that I'd have to repurchase and download in the new format. This solution will take longer and you need to re-type the song name, artist and album but it was the only solution to re-acquire my music downloads from wal mart. Because of this I'm now using another music provider.
