hi all,
I'm a loyal Apple product user. Besides some negative feedbacks on prior topics on the new ipod shuffle, I wanted to add this. When is apple going to add FM stations to it's ipod products?

If Apple were to do that, they'd have to add an FM receiver first. There IS, btw, an Apple FM Radio Remote available for iPods other than the shuffle...

Not the smartest move by Apple to let this hit the market BEFORE an adapter is available. They should've waited until they were available and gave the option to swap their earbuds for the adapter so that no extra cost would be incurred for those of us who like more comfortable and better quality sound!

Anyone out there wanna buy the 5 pairs of white Apple earphones I throw in a drawer immediately after opening my new iPods?

Opinion: If only Apple could make their headphones to have the 3 sizes of rubber in-ear fittings (like most everyone else!)- people would actually use their headphones - even if a little inferior in sound. I know I would!

i AM SURE YOU WILL DELETE THIS POST TOO!

I am a loyal customer, too. I thought the new shuffle looked awesome and was immediately going to buy the new model as soon as it was announced (and give my current 2nd Generation shuffle to my daughter). It's not that I can't handle change, it's that this design is not practical for the way I use my shuffle. I do use the apple earbuds, but most often I use my shuffle with no earphones at all. I plug it into my car stereo and I also plug it into a Sony radio that only plays mp3s. I will not buy this new shuffle. I will buy a new 2nd Generation 2GB shuffle. (If I can find one, since it's no longer available from this site. Oh, Apple. Why?)

I don't see the point of eliminating controls from the unit itself and then requiring an "adapter." Even if it's free (which I doubt it will be). The beauty of the 2nd gen design is it is simple, functional & compact. I don't want to keep track of an adapter just so I can use my device. Why, Apple WHY?!?

Sorry for anyone who was involved with this decision or was on the design team that thought this was a great idea. It would have helped if you had gone to actual customers instead of thinking how you could cash in on selling proprietary earbuds. I love my current shuffle and am going shopping with some 3rd party sellers as soon as I log off here. (If I can find someone selling one!)

If you do a spell check here, it prompts you to change earbuds to airbus! Hilarious.

I would imagine the same people who designed the 2nd Generation Shuffle also designed this one. And I would assume they considered all of the things that everyone has brought up here. But I would also guess that their marketing research determined that they have designed a product for the vast majority of the people who buy them, i.e, those who wanted some way to have multiple playlists (VoiceOver), did not want sweat getting into the controls while they run/exercise, and don't buy 3rd party headphones. And for them this new product fits perfectly.

If it doesn't for you don't buy it. Not everything Apple designs is going to fit your needs.

Wow, so, you actually like it?!? You are the first person I know (or have seen) who actually likes it.... You can't rewind songs... you don't care?? Interesting..... what do you see as positives in it? It seems to be a down step for Apple to me, considering how many people don't like it compared to past new products... (Not like I dislike you for like it or anything, just getting myself a good opinion about it. Adding up the positives and negatives.)

The new shuffle is out and WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY IT IS. I've only had mine one day and already it's back in the box never to be used again. I can't use those ear buds that come with iPods (no good for my ears, fall out and they hurt like crazy) The only successful ones for me are in-ear. To my disgust I find that the controls are all on the ear bud. WHAT A STUPID IDEA. I agree that the control box should be interchangeable with what ear phone suits the wearer. We aren't all clones. BIG MISTAKE APPLE. DEFINITELY NO RECOMMENDATIONS FROM ME FOR THIS ONE
