Canon EOS 400D does not import

Question

Canon EOS 400D does not import

Hi, I am using a friends Canon EOS 400D to take some good images. When I connected the camera to my MBP, iPhoto 09 opened correctly, but said there were no images to import, which is odd, because I took around 100 images, stored in the camera memory.

Any ideas as to why the images are not seen? My MBP is completely up to date software-wise...

Check the communication setting in the tools menu on the camera. It should be set to "PTP" Communications.

Oh thanks, I'll try that tomorrow. What is the default setting, and what is PTP communications? Just wondering what it means. Thanks for your help!

I think PTP is the default. 8^) The other setting is "PC Communications"

The PTP protocol is the technical name for the PictBridge protocol, I believe. I don't exactly know what "PC Communications" means - I think it turns it into a USB camera.
