Voice Over Problems

The Voice Over feature is only saying generic stuff
ie: "All Songs, Playlist 1, Playlist 2, etc."

I've:
-Done a fresh install of iTunes 8.1.0.51 (wasn't using iTunes before this)
-iTunes downloaded Voice Over and it was installed.
-Enabled the voice over feature in the summary tab, and it is on English.
-Only have English songs with Tags (the meta data with the song info)
-Tried turning on and off Manually Manage Music

When I sync the iPod it say "Generating Voice Over Messages" in the status bar. Yet it's not working.

This is really frustrating, although it's not an essential feature, I was certainly excited about it.

1) Is there anyway to reinstall Voice Over?
2) Any other suggestions? or anyone else with the same problem?

I did the update as well. I don't know if this helped or not, but as I said in previous post, I changed the default Voice Over language from Automatic to English in the Shuffle options page. I also selected every track in my iTunes library, did a "Get Info" and then chose English in the Voice Over language pop-up under the Options tab, then re-synced the Shuffle. I would think you should be able to change it to Spanish and see if that corrects the problem too. I don't think it can hurt. That and I also try to make sure I have a couple hundred megabytes free on the Shuffle. Since I've done this plus the update, I haven't had any problems with it speaking in other languages for me or doing the generic playlist thing.

Just to confuse matters: My wife and I both have the new shuffle, and hers is almost full, with mine being half full.

Her shuffle names every song title and artist - but mine only names just some - about a third of whats on it

I get the "All Songs" for the rest. The same songs I get the message "All Songs" for are correctly voiced over on my wifes shuffle. Strange,

Hi, I have the same problems. Even worth, itunes downloads the voice over kit, but just does nothing after that. I activate the the Voice over button but the installing is just 1 or 2 seconds to see. Then nothing...
Have installed everything new and updated, resetted again, and again, but it´s not working... Has anybody any news here?

I've just had the same problem!! I called the support line in Poland and after a veeeeeeery long conversation, they've discovered the cause of that thing happening.
In my case it was all because I've installed my itunes in a different location that C:\Program Files\iTunes so whenever it has downloaded some other components which went directly to disk C:\ those wouldn't see each other. And it appears itunes needs few more things to work properly..
So I had to uninstall (add/remove programs) those in that order: Apple Mobile device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, Quicktime, VoiceOver Kit, itunes :))
And then just download itunes again, install, connect your ipod, enable voice Over, and then it's perfect!!!!!!

good luck

was having the same issue mostly with podcasts. selected them all and changed language to english but it still would refer to some (not all) as "podcast #" or just "podcast." then tried changing the overall language to english (uk) and now not only does it proplery name each podcast it also pronounces many of the proper names of people correctly as well. hmm.
