MBP ( late 2006 ) Trackpad freezing, iPhoto problems, dust under screen

It's annoying at this point. Previous repairs on this unit have included 2 screens, motherboard, keyboard, speakers, complete wrist wrest area ( because it had been opened so many times it wasn't sitting properly ), 2 batteries, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

On to my current problems

1) Trackpad seems to stop responding for several seconds at random. Happens once a day give or take.

2) Dust under the screen. I know it's not damage because it's started moving. This would be the 3rd display that has developed dust problems, and it's hardly left my house this past year!

3) iPhoto will not show me some of my pictures. When I click on them they will do the enlarge zoom and then where the image should be goes black. Under iPhoto '09 if I click on names it will box and show me the name it's assigned to the face in the picture, but there is nothing where the image should be.

4) If I launch iPhoto and then start the stock collage slide show the screen saver locks up ( not the system as a whole ). If I leave the screensaver running it will eventually stop working as long as iPhoto is also open.

The system has had a HD upgrade and RAM. I know it's not RAM since I had a problem with RAM before and have tested it as much as possible and it's not exhibiting the problems that I would expect from bad RAM.

I have rebuild my iPhoto library ( twice ) without any change.

I have removed and reloaded the images from the library.

I have reset my PMU.

I have done a repair permissions.

I have run "Tech Tool Deluxe" several times without finding anything.

I have run the Diagnostics mode from the the install DVD looping overnight.

My next and last thing to try is an archive and reinstall.

Is there something else besides another trip to the genius bar and the likely additional repairs that this unit will face?

Back from the genius bar.

They are replacing the screen, but consider dust under the screen to be an "environmental" issue and basically told me they would not do it again. My question is if the LCD unit should be factory sealed, how would anything in the environment get into it?

As for iPhoto they were stumped. They recommend I try and Archive and Reinstall. It seemed to take forever to do the install, resetting of the messed up passwords, applying the combo update and then running Software update. In the end I've waster 3 hours and iPhoto is still eating some of my pictures. I'm trying an iPhoto rebuild ... AGAIN. Their next peice of advice is to TRASH my iPhoto database and recreate it. Thanks, no, with over 2k images that would be a nightmare and take all weekend.
