blurriness after cropping in iPhoto '09

This is happening to me too! High resolution photos that I can zoom way in and get great detail but even if I crop just the edges off, the picture becomes a little blurry like I took the picture out of focus, *** fml!

Okay so I cropped every photo the way I wanted and hit DONE. The actual pic files stay clear. Must be a bug in the preview mode of editing after you crop. Cheers!

i am having this same problem. i'm painstakingly adjusting photos and then saying "done" then when I reopen the photo it's blurry. the odd thing is this is not happening 100% of the time. i just started in '09. is this a bug?

I have the same problem of blurring whenever I crop an image in iPhoto 09. I have the same problem when I straighten an image. I did not have this problem when I used iPhoto 09 for the first two months.

I found the picture does look blurry in the iPhoto window but when I view the same picture in fullscreen, it looks clear like the original. I'm sure the pictures are clear, iPhoto is just not rendering them properly.

I have the same problem. The thumbnails of some cropped photos are blurry. Changing the magnification of the photo restores the legibility of the photo.

Any suggestions on how to force iPhoto to create non-blurry thumbnails?

For those stumbling onto this thread: the problem is in what might be called the "base" thumbnail. It shows in all views and in the initial Edit view. If you click and drag the magnify slider in Edit view, the initial view of the photo is blurred. When you release in any position but the far left, the blurriness clears, but it returns as soon as you click on the slider again.

I posted it to Apple as a bug. If you have the same problem, please follow Old Toad's link above and report it.
