iTunes 8.1 window too big - can't see bottom to resize.
Just downloaded iTunes 8.1. On launch the window is too big. The row of buttons at the bottom of the window are off the bottom of the screen - as is the corner you grab to resize (whatever that's called). How do I resize the window?
tell application "Finder"
set {d1, d2, d3, d4} to (get bounds of window of desktop)
end tell
tell application "iTunes"
set margins to {d1 + 10, d2 + 54, d3 - 10, d4 - 148}
set bounds of window 1 to margins
end tell
Thanks for your help. I tried that script, but it just resized the main window. I changed it to say window 2 (instead of window 1) but then I just got an error saying 'Itunes got an error: Unknown object type.' Any other suggestions?
I had the same problem with the new itunes install, the itunes console was hanging off the bottom of the screen, very frustrating..!!
thanks very much, this worked a treat, cheers..!! 🙂
Or if the window is too big, you can hold Alt/Option while you click the + button. This will resize it without turning the window into the mini player.
Apple really needs to fix up iTunes, because the latest one has so many bugs...
Just change the resolution (up or down) of the screen when itunes is running, and any oversized windows will automatically resize to fit. Worked a charm for me 🙂
Doesn't this issue point to a bigger problem with the Mac's window re-sizing functionality? It's crazy that a window can open up so big that you can neither use it nor re-size it. That's just bad UI design.
Hey guys, thanks so much for the help. When I bought my new MacBook I copied the XML libraries and put them onto my MB in the same order so I don't lose my music albums and ordering etc. I thought that's what made it become outsized compared to the window.
Your help work so well.
I used this
tell application "iTunes"
set bounds of window 1 to {296, 97, 800, 600}
end tell
