I am trying to automate the EQ presets in one channel strip of Logic. The scenario is this, I have an hour long show with several different vocalist singing on one mic, one channel. I have created EQ presets on each vocalist but cannot automate these EQ presents on the fly (or any other way). I can easily change the EQ parameters and have that be automated but cannot figure out to automate the presets themselves.
You can't do that but you could automate the bypass of different Eq's. So insert as many Eq Plug Ins as you need in the channelstrip, select the desired presets in each one and then automate the bypass switches.
Could you not just split the audio track onto seperate tracks, 1 for each vocalist, and use the different eq settings on each of these tracks instead of automation?
Both of these ideas are good and they do work. It just seems strange not to be able to automate the EQ presets, OR, the input channel settings. In the manual, Logic says virtually everything can be automated. I wonder why presets can't.
