Shuffle with cross-fade on 3rd Gen Shuffle - does anyone know?

Hi everyone!

One of the features I use at home with iTunes a lot is the cross-fade playback option. I noticed that the new Nano offers this capability, too.

Does anyone know if it's an option on the new shuffle, or if it cross-fades between tracks by default?

Well, I've found out the answer to my own question!

In case anyone was wondering: no, it doesn't do crossfades between tracks, but it does support gapless playback, so if that's how your tracks are set up, you will get a very continuous sounding playback between tracks anyway.

There we have it!

Could you tell us how you rip your songs? So far I only find AAC to be gapless (True VBR is not gapless though). Lame MP3 is not gapless on the 3G shuffle, despite being gapless on other iPods/iTunes.
