Activity Monitor Shows User "Daemon"?

I was poking around the system utilities, and found this under Activity Monitor.

Process ID: 15
Process Name: Disnoted
User: Daemon
Virtual Memory: 585.59MB

What is this? and who is Daemon? LOL

Daemon (pronounced demon) is a process that runs in the backgorund

The Disnoted daemon provides distribution notifications. Typically you don't want to stop any daemon if you don't know what it is or what it does
