iWeb Sites Unpublished

Appeltjehehe, thanks for explaining that "personal domain" thing. Now I can say with confidence that I do not have a personal domain. This discussion has grown quite long over the course of the day. I wish I had seen it before I spent an entire evening deleting my website and republishing MULTIPLE times. Now I'm just waiting for Apple to fix this. I hope they are seeing all these messages.

The support person I spoke with last night said it's possible to go back to 08 but to make sure you back up the domain first in User/Library/Applicationsupport/iWeb.

Same problem here.... What gives? One site may publish, then they all turn red again when you publish the next. I have 3 in total. Any one? Any one?

I hope Apple realize that there is a BIG problem here, the should because I can not imagine the amount of data transfer they must to have because all the users must to update the hole site each time they change a coma....

I called Apple before looking at this discussion thread and the person I talked to said they are aware of this issue and they are working on it. He also mentioned it got higher on the priority list. It's certainly anoying but probably not worth going back to iWeb 08. Hopefully it's a matter of days before the issue introduced in 3.0.1 is resolved.

I am also experiencing the same problem. Site changes used to work fine, after this minor recent iweb '09 update, iweb now publishes the entire site.

Just a quick note to say that I have the same problems. I had my main iWeb site plus three smaller (1 to 2 pages) sites in the same domain file; I have since trashed the small sites leaving only the one main site in the domain file. The problem is exactly as before, so it does not appear that having a single site per domain file helps. Right now, it really is frustrating; forget keeping up a blog under these circumstances.

I was experiencing this infuriating problem with my entire site changing to red after a small change on all 3 of my sites. This is what worked for me.
I stopped sync with mobile me and signed out in the system preferences. Then i repaired the disk permissions from applications/utilities/diskutility in the first aid tab. I repaired the permissions on the main HD of my mac. I then did a restart and logged back into mobile me in system preferences and did a resync. Then i published my sites again and they now work fine as they should do. One small change and the remainder of the site remains blue and it now only publishes the change. Good luck.

I don't sync with MMe at all and I don't understand how this 'solution' can work.
I am tired of looking for solutions. Apple should fix this or tell us what to do.
Let us know if your solution still sticks after a few days.

I'm having the same issue since the update.

I have a very simple blog page, with only the main page, archive, and individual entries. After the recent update, adding a single update causes every single page to be set to red and re-uploaded.

Prior to the update, only the main page, archive page and new entry were uploaded.

I bit the bullet and decided to try the "stop MobileMe sync, repair permissions, restart, resync, republish" solution. No improvement at all. Published site turns blue, but then entirely red on the next change or republish. Not worth the trouble of resyncing all that data. Patience appears to be the only strategy with any potential.

I think they were adding the ability to publish each site individually as well as publish each to a different location and by a different method, something I had been wanting. Still, they should have added a "Publish All Sites" option, or better still, something like "Publish Selected Sites" option. Maybe they will if we send feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html

I thought it was the update that messed it up, but then I used Time Machine to take me back to 3.0 and it didn't help. That, plus what you wrote, plus what others have written convinces me that it is something that happened at the server (MobileMe) side at roughly the same time that the update was made available.

Hey, I posted in another thread about trying a larger site, but holding off until Apple fixes this. I did however do a test and updating one page did keep all the other pages looking good; meaning active and blue.

CHECK WITH APPLE CARE. IDID ON FRIDAY AND THEY GUARANTEED THE MATTER WOULD BE FIXED BY MONDAY. WELL, THEY CAME THROUGH. NO MORE ENTIRE SITE UPLOADING WHEN MAKING ONE SIMPLE CHANGE...DOMAINS WORK GREAT. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH EITHER I-WEB OR MOBILE ME, ME.COM.. THEIR ENGINEERS WORKED THROUGH THE WEEKEND TO FIX IT AND IT WAS BY 5:00PM PAC. TIME!
