Using iPhone with Microsoft Sync

I just bought a Ford Escape.. The guy are the dealership hooked my phone up for me but took about 10 seconds. Works great and I have had NO problems.

iPhone =/= iPod. You could go Ford or the site for MS sync and probably find which devices are officially supported.

Edit - So I just went too the site. It seems the compatibility varies between different configurations and between different models. I just looked at one, and the Ford Escape Hybrid with GPS system and all the stuff supports the iPhone 2.0. Mobiles are listed by carrier, so some may and some may not. So you would have to select what model Fusion you are considering and what options it may have.

Yeah I have a Mercury Milan and I have gotten my iphone to work with the sync but using either the usb or the radio tuner it makes clicking noises with the iphone. It says this accessory is not designed to work with this device. Its kinda annoying because I can call at the same time with music playing. I would love to find something that would work. If anybody has gotten it to work let me know. Until then I just use my flash drive.

I have an '08 Ford Taurus LTD and my new iPhone 3G seems to work well. It doesn't come through as loudly over the speaker as my previous LG phone so I really have to crank the volume but other than that it's worked perfectly. Maybe the stereo in 3.0 for bluetooth will help with that.

Only problem is the Bluetooth audio feature of the iphone has a hiccup every 30 seconds when playing through your ford. Look for the articles about it here. There are specific problems that MANY people are having with Bluetooth audio. Everything else works great though... I am hoping for a bug fix on this soon because Bluetooth audio is really an excellent feature.

I had a Ford rental that had this and even following the directions in the book, I couldn't get the phone to sync.

You could always try it with a model in the showroom to see if you have better luck. My husband and I had the Fusion for 4 days and neither of us had any luck with the sync.

Different models have different configurations and may not support all devices.

Yes, your iPhone will work with Microsoft sync. i have one and a ford with synce works great!
