iMovie 5 and QT Pro 7

On my G4 Powerbook I recently had to revert back to QT 6.5.2 because QT 7 was making my iMovie editing jump/skip. Now that I'm home on my G5 dual processor, I see that my iMovie works fine on QT 7.o.2 Have the recent updates fixed this or is it becasuse my G5 can handle this issue better?

What version of OSX have you on these machines? I'm trying to work out whether it is a panther/tiger issue or perhaps G4/G5.

Both the G4 PowerBook and the G5 PowerMac Tower are running on Panther-OS X 10.3.9
