Typing and window scrolling pause, short pause (freezes)

Hello,

For some time now I have noticed that while typing or scrolling windows, like safari, the system interface pauses / freezes, for perhaps .5 sec or more, then catches up to where I was.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to stop?

It feels like I am working on a 1980's computer that could not process my input fast enough 🙂

iTunes plays without pausing the music, surely I can type input without pausing?

Many thanks for suggestions.

I'm having the same problem. It would be nice if there was a quick fix for this like "Oh you just have to get rid of this process" or something. I just changed my key repeat rate from fastest to two clicks from fastest in the midst of typing this message and I haven't had a problem since though haha. However, I have noticed a slowing of youtube videos. They will sputter every once in a while (and dang it, the typing just paused at "They will sputter" and then it caught up). I probably just need to free up some hard drive space though because I'm at 7GB free out of 94.88GB on my 120GB white Macbook (I partitioned it so I have 16GB for Windows). I've had this for about eight months now and it has been absolutely seamless until now. I've had Word, VLC playing 1080p Blood Diamond on an external 1680x1050 monitor, Firefox with like 15 tabs open, Stickies, and like four other programs open back in the days of seamlessness and I had no problems. But now I can't even type or scroll! It'd be great if you could get a video of what's happening.

So i've been having this problem as well. I have a new Macbook and occasionally while I type or scroll it pauses. Tried all sorts of fixes but nothing. Then it dawned on me to check which start up programs I continually run. BINGO. I'm using a real time virus scanning program Virus Barrier (which is great) and that's what is causing the problems. The pauses are annoying but I'm virus free so I guess ill live with it.

I am having the exact same problem with my MacBook. This is extremely frustrating especially when closing windows or doing something that requires quick response. I've searched the forums and have not found any solutions. The last posting about the virus application isn't the solution; I don't have this software, and if I did I'd get rid of it because it shouldn't lead to this problem. I may have to bring my MacBook in for an overhaul if I can't figure out what is causing this.
