Help, yogurt spilled on keyboard

My daughter spilled a yogurt drink all over our Mac Book Pro keyboard. We were able to clean most of it off but some seeped under some of the keys and now they are gooey underneath and it seems that the power cord connection isn't working. If I don't take care of the power cord the battery will run down and then I won't be able to use the computer.

I've taken the body apart before when I changed out the hard drive so I could take it apart again to clean it but I don't really know what the best way to clean it would be. Maybe I should take it into Apple to have it cleaned. I don't know how long that would take though. Any thoughts out there?

I agree with sig. Whatever you do, absolutely Do NOT put power to it until it has been opened up and inspected and cleaned. It's possible that the yogurt has not yet penetrated to the logic board, but it could trickle down to it over time. The keyboard will likely need to be replaced, and ALL residue of the spill will need to be cleaned up. If you are not certain of how to clean it, then it's best to leave that to a professional such as Apple or an AASP.

Good luck!
