GB + Mac Mini + Optical input + ... ADAT?

GB + Mac Mini + Optical input + ... ADAT?

It's kind of tough to find the specs on the optical port on the Mac Mini and pretty much anything on multitracking from that port to GB. I have half a mind to sort out the multiple problems of cable spaghetti and noisy analogue inputs to my Mac by using a Behringer ADA8000 digital interface. The output on that guy is ADAT.

Is use of ADAT with GB as simple as connecting an optical cable from the ADA8000 to the optical in on the Mini?

2x Mac Mini Intel dual core; iPhone 3G, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Although they both use optical connections; ADAT Lightpipe and optical S/PDIF: TOSLink; like on a Mac, are not compatible.

Cheers. I have learned that a MOTU 828 or a Line 6 studio POD both have compatible optical links.
