iTunes opens Automatically

My iTunes keeps opening automatically. I quit iTunes and it opens again in few minutes. I do not have any device, iPod or otherwise, connected to the computer. My computer also seems to run slower when iTunes is open. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

For iTunes opening automatically:

Be sure to disable the following widgets:

bpm
Red Alarm Clock
iTunes

They will try and activate iTunes

For your computer running slower when iTunes is open:

If you have a large iTunes collection, make sure that you have the highest possible amount of RAM in your computer.

Also, be sure that you are using the latest version of iTunes.
