date/time stamp for digital8 imports?

New mac user here. Used to use premier elements on xp and used dvengate to get date/time stamp for my digital8 tape imports.

iMovie does a great job importing just like premiere elements, but I still don't have a way of getting the date/time stamp of when the movie was shot. DVengate isn't made for pc.

Any suggestions?

Correction: tool was called "dvdate".

Right-click on your clip in the Event browser and select Set Date and Time.

Appleman - I only see the right click option to "adjust date and time". BUT, I just noticed in the top right corner of the browser, that the original date/time of the clip is there! Woo-hoo!

Why can't iMovie show the "create" date of the .dv file as the tape date/time?! Hmmm...

Click View/Playhead Info, and you will see date and time as you skim over your event with the cursor.

Sorry to invite myself in this discussion but appleman seems to be the guy that could help me...

I got iMovie 06 and and a Sony handycam.

When I do click on view/playhead info, it tells me that the "capture" date is unknown.

But when I playback on my sony handycam, I can see the date/hour.

Why is that date/hour info not also imported ? Is it imported but I can't make it appear ?
