small dents on screen provoked by keyboard

Hello,
I just noticed a series of small dents/scratches on my MacBook screen.
The dents are obviously provoked by the keyboard touching the screen over and over when you close the laptop.

It looks to me like a possible design flaw.

I was wondering if the screen repair will be free of charge or not (the guarantee period has expired already).

Kind Regards
Luca

Just to check, are you sure the marks are actual dents in the surface of the screen? I've encountered a number of similar situations where the user thought that the screen was dented when actually the marks were just finger oil that had been transferred from the keys. You may indeed have a misfitted keyboard and/or screen such that there are dents in the screen, but if you have't tried cleaning the screen with a clean lint-free cloth (the cloths sold for cleaning eyeglasses is ideal), give that a try.

If cleaning the screen doesn't remove the marks, then a trip to the service center will be needed.

Regards.
