hi! so my ipod touch stopped being able to charge... it's never had problems before, but now it refuses to charge. anywhere. I've tried with my mac, with an apple wall charger, with different apple usb cords, in different outlets, and it will not charge. the battery will show the lightning bolt, but it's not flashing. the ipod makes the little noise when it's plugged into the wall, and it will sync to the computer and get updated, but it won't charge. please help!
Check the connector on the bottom of your Touch and be sure there is not link, debris, bent pins, etc. that would prevent a good connection. If you find such detritus use compressed air or a brush that will not shed bristles and clean it out. If this is not present you probably have a hardware problem and need to get it serviced.

sometimes when it's charging it flashes... it's probably just a minor detail but the battery icon used to flash dark gray to lighter gray. maybe it only used to and isn't supposed to anyways?
It probably stopped doing that animation after an update. Do you have any proof that it's not charging like draining that battery and trying to charge it to full power?
Apple probably removed the animation with an update. Do you have any experience with this issue like say maybe you drain the battery and try to charge it up?
My iPhone does not pulsate the battery charging symbol (my older iPods do), so try running your Touch down to about a quarter of the battery, put it on the charger and let it charge for 3 hours. If it shows to be charged you probably don't have a problem.
idk... it's been sitting at tiny amount of red for a long time now. it was charging fine one moment, then next time it took it forever to charge a tiny bit, then it got really low on battery because of use and would not charge at all. it's been a few days. if it drained itself to recharge, it kinda forgot about the recharging part
Looks like I'm having the same issue. Was working fine up until tonight. Blew out the connector, ruled out the cable and USB port. My faith in Apple hardware plummets further.
