Ok, so I have to download Netscape, well I go there and it downloads as a .exe file.

You probably tried to download Netscape 8 which is for Windows only. Or at least one of the Windows versions. That would explain the "exe" extensions. Netscape site seems to be either downplaying or hiding the Mac browsers, I can't find a link or a mention going through their new site layout.

The error message says there is absolutely no support for OS X and you need Netscape 4.5 for OS 8/9 and that Netscape 6 for OS 8/9 will not work, so I assume that Netscape 7 for OS 8/9 probably will not work.

If you want to try OS 8/9 versions of Netscape under Classic, you can find two versions on VersionTracker: Netscape Communicator 4.8 and Netscape 7.0.2. I suspect that Netscape 7.0.2 is an OS 8/9 version of the same version for OS X and that it will probably not work.

Besides the OS 8/9 versions of Netscape, you may need to download the OS 8/9 version of Windows Media Player which you can also download from VersionTracker.

If you want to experiment, here is what I would recommend:

1. Download Netscape Communicator.
2. Try launch.com to see if Netscape will pass the audio stream over the the OS X version of Windows Media Player.
3. If it works - you're home free.

4. If it doesn't work, download the OS 8/9 version of Windows Media Player
5. Try launch.com again.
6. Hopefully, this should work.

If you do not want to experiment, I could try things out for you, but it may be at least tomorrow (Friday) or this weekend before I have the chance.
